After your submitted to the search engines you want to make sure that your site looks good in the eyes of the search engine so that you rank high. Ways of doing this is just by posting back links to your site on other reputable sites that has the same general topic as your site. Another important thing is that you can't ever have enough content. The more content you have is the more chances for a page of your site to be viewed in the search engines. When your writing content its also good to submit to sites like Digg.com so that you receive traffic that way. Also create a Twitter.com account and every time you post a new article on your site make sure you add it to Digg and tell the people that follow you on Twitter and put a link to it in the update.
