How to make a video tutorial for putting on youtube?

I was wondering how do you make a video tutorial or a video from your computer screenshots or video. May be it is already present somewhere in the forum but my search terms did not help me find it.

I have used windows media encoder a few times. It works great and is free.

I am not sure if you can output a flash file but converting it won't be too tricky if need be.

it's an open source video capture program. totally free. I haven't really used it so can't say how good it is.
