How to make a video of on screen activity

Hi - I am running Windows Vista and want to be able to capture my on-screen activity for around 3 or 4 minutes at a time for tutorial videos. I have seen loads of these online, but all seem to be shots of AppleMac users. Does anybody know what software I can get (preferably free or cheap please) that will allow me to create this kind of video? If there is a video tutorial of how to use it, even better. lol

Also you can try Screen VidShot. It's not a free, but it has a trial version. I checked it long time ago.

Yep, another one for Camtasia, best one out there.

 

Camstudio is great for a free screencapture. Of course there is one far better Camtasia Studio 5 but a bit expensive.

 

You can also get Camtasia 3 for free now (just do a search on Google for "Camtasia 3")

 

HyerCam 1.72MB, Camtasia Studio 25.58MB, both software can help you create that kind of video.
