how to make a template

    You need to learn some basic HTML, and if you want to make templates, then throw in some PHP and/or Smarty too.

    I'm a great cook, but I don't know how to fly a plane.

    Okie i have done it many times, so design your page first in photoshop and then use slice tool to cut the portions for different sections (header/body/ side bars/ footer) but I would say that its good to start with but not the most efficient way of doing it. let me know if you wanna learn more about how to create a template. ??

    You can slice photoshop images to html site.Check it first.

    you should learn html first then lay down your page layout on a paper , then slowly convert it into html and then start applying background using photoshop.. so use html to begin with use and then photoshop.. not photoshop and then html.
