    Hey guys!

I have made my first official forum ever.

Can you give me tips and points to remember on how to make it a successful one?

It's a community site that centralizes Philippines and The Cebu Region per se.

    http://www.hangout-cebu.com/forum

This is not a review! and this is certainly ain't advertising. Don't click or visit the site if you think I'm doing so.

I just wanted to hear other people's tips and strategic points about this matter.

    Thanks!

fill your forum with quality and unique content so that search engines would crawl them and as soon as you get listed in the search engine you will start getting users and then try to open some thread asking people to comment on that and win a prize or something and most give honestly you promise it can be a script a article a domain or anything you desire...

as people start building interests in your forum so make some more useful threads... this way you can make a successful forum

    hope it helps...

    This is key!

You need a large content base of useful posts, good traffic and moderators.

Patience. Forums require alot of patience, and alot of effort, with time and money.

Good topics are the start to making a successful forum. Then, I suggest paying some posters to post on your forum and then waiting. Patience will make it alive. All forums start this way IMHO

go the services - content creation section

start a thread hiring forum posters

most forum posters charge 10 cents per post

so for 10 posts you pay a poster $1

    I personally feel...
that a new forum should have less categories..
which should be increased with the increase in traffic.
