How to make a sitemap?

If your website have a sitemap,it could helpful for spider crawl your site?
Our site use the oscommerce,is there have a plugin to creat sitemap?
I can not find it,so anyone can help me ?

PS:If we have submit the feed format sitemap to google webmaster tools,but there have some can not reachable，is it would affect google index our pages and the keyword position?
