    Hi,

Since you have already noticed I'm new to these server things.

I would like to know if t is possible to make a server query (to any server) in order to know about it's public configuration (name servers, etc.)

    Thanks,
    Irongloves
P.S. I hope my question is quite clear

Unless you're talking about domain name registrations related to servers? Try www.whois.sc << worth registering to be able to get some added functionality from it.

I'm not 100% on what you mean, but if you just want to see what nameservers are authorative for a domain and you have access to a linux/unix system, then the command host -t NS domain.com will show you that.

There are also webbased tools to do the same.
