Could you or could you direct me to a tutorial that will show me how to make a phpld template?

I have made some very good SS listings templates (here and here) but don't understand how to make a phpld one.

    Thanks!

    Hello,

the easiest way is to take the default template and build on it. This way you won't have any functionality problems.

So I don't need to edit those tpl files or what's the deal with that?

Yes, you have to edit the tpl files, but you edit just HTML code, and leave the Smarty tags as they are.

Get an expert in if I was you - I've recently created a directory that I'll be launching next month and I recommend http://www.phpldtemplates.com

I was thinking about writting tutorial about that topic and post it on my site(in sig). I might do it when I have some time.
And I do not agree that changing default templates is best way. When I write tutorial you will see my technique. It is much easyer and faster and gives more control to layout. Only reason phpld is hard to edit is that html and css code is not done as best as it could be done.
I hope I am going to make it easyer to edit with that tut I have on my mind.
