how to make a link look like you want it to

Hi I'm kind of new to this stuff. I'm trying to do some artcile marketing and whatnot, and I want the links I put into articles to say what I want it to, and i'm enough of a newbie to be not too sure how to do that.

for instance, I'm promoting a clickbank e product and it gives me a link that doesn't even say the name of the product I'm promoting. I have an html link but I assume I can't put that in most article sites [am I correct there?], only on say a web page i have.

somebody recommended I do some kind of redirect from a web page i.e. put code on the page saying to redirect to the clickbank page, but there's gotta be an easier way of doing it than that. can anyone give me the rundown on this?

    thanks a lot,
    Will MacBride

Can you paste the link here so we can see exactly what you mean?

first thing is you just read the basic guide lines of that particular site because all the article sites have different rules. & I think you could place your link by simply <a href=""></a> tag of html, but some sites allowed BB code for linking.

Most people write an article based on what they are promoting, then link back to a page on their own website that will include the clickbank link you are referring too. You are correct that most article submission sites do not allow direct affiliate links to be put into articles. That is why some webmasters do redirects; which simply means it looks like the link is going to your own website, but then the link is redirected to the clickbank or other affiliate product page.

Ok, what you might want to do is create a squidoo lens this can act as your website about the product, etc but then in articles and depending on the article directory terms differ - so you will have to check them out, so you would put your link in the bio to either the clickbank product or the squido lens and you would do that by inserting the code below and editing it with your info and remove the spaces.

    <a href=" what your url is ">Fantasitc New Product</a>

The url is self explanitary, replace "Fantastic New Product" with the keyword you are targeting.

You could use a URL shortening site that allows you to make the tag description whatever you choose.
    Hope that helps.
