It's easy as long as you have the database/source for the list of words/phrases with meanings. Its more of a data work than PHP i guess.

PHP is server side so you can't view the source...unless I'm missing something.

You can not do anything without data.

Use the Google API and query them instead of a database. But that runs out after 1000 queries a day.

No... not if you don't want to store the research and instead query overture each time.
Or save in a text file...
Although a database will make things much easier for you to manage.
It's not difficult to set up a database if you know what you are doing...
    Bye:)

Use flat files or like I said, hook it up to a 3d party service like Google API.

Man, you need data, not a database. Data is a set of information, either a plain file , a mysql database , or querying google/overture. In every case you will need data. Just you need which option to use. PHP is not the question here.

Not to be a smartass, but if you don't know php, have no db access, don't know where to access the data...then how are you going to make the tool? What exactly are you looking for here...someone to write it for you? I think there have been some pretty good suggestions so far.

You could do something like this I guess.

    - Build a search form and save the user query
    - Send the request to:
    http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/$query_term
    - Write the results to a flat file, csv, mysql..whatever....or just print them as they are returned

We have given you a general idea of how to go about this. I doubt anyone is going to write the whole thing for you. Good luck!
