It isnt easy, you would either have to come up with something unique to make alot of money, if not then it would be hard to start making money from an ordinary forum which has thousands of others that are in the similar industry. Pretty much, the only hard part in making money in a forum from scratch is advertising the forum to get more people to register, post and be active. If you've got that then you have a good chance of making money, but if not then your forum could just easily die out. You have to give a really good reason on why people should visit your forum and not others in the same industry.
