There's a lot more to monetization than AdSense. Take a look at John Chow's posting here where he showed that in December he made more profit with less traffic than in November, all because he expanded his revenue sources.
Well, I don't necessarily need Adsense to be my primary source of income. It could be a decent part of it though. Yeah, I know what you mean about the honeymoon. I just got married in October and we want to go to Europe this summer.
I know this is negative, but you should have continued your job and worked on your websites part time and only quit once your online income over a certain period, as in x number of months consistently matched your day job. Whilst there are a few people that could go from $5 to $5,000 in six months, the stories of arbitrage are one that comes to mind, for a lot of webmasters that kind of money is built up gradually over time.
Hey, I have a similar goal I want to make $1,000/week by June. If you are looking for a partner let me know, I also have some experience with PHP. Maybe we can brainstorm and come up with something.
Ok, I see no one answered the Autoresponder question and I've been away. Basically, an autoresponder is an email program that automatically delivers emails to verified subscribers for you. I use Aweber and I love it. You can set up as many lists as you want and have unlimited newsletters, ecourses, etc. If you have the time, you can create a 5 day email mini-course teaching your subscribers something of value and either recommend some affiliate programs within it, or promote your own product. And in my earlier post, yes I did mean something like an ebook or any digital product. With a digital product, you don't have to worry about inventory or shipping and handling costs. This is just one idea. You can do something similar or not. Your choice. But I believe that having optin subscribers is an important part of internet business. It builds relationships with your readers and also provides another opportunity to promote products or services. You should think about it.
I tried that for about a year and I got backtracked, so this time I'm focused on moving forward. I was making more than $60K at my job but I figure.. once I'm making $5K/mo, we can continue our plan to get the house and everything, as well as travel and all. I'm looking into the arbitrage thing.. still don't completely understand it though. Thanks for the constructive advice though!
Hi, im doing Civil Engineering. and also im building designer in Auto CAD program. Can u guys give me the way that how can i make money on internet?
Look, I am going to be honest with you. There is no way to make $5,000 month. Now let's look at your situation. Excuse me for being rude but quiting your job was a simple mistake. I would suggest to go back and work part time to avoid disputes with your wife. Now about your sites, I could easily point you to a thousand different conclusions but this is the simplest and even you will understand it. You have 2 sites correct? making $5 a day? All you have to do is multiple how many sites you have! Like buy 10 proxy domains and set up just some google ads and proxies and you can easily make $3-10 a day off them. (I run 3 and making $5 a day on each). Now, 10 proxies times $5 is $50 a month! And that if your proxy isn't that popular I have seen some making way more. And 50 x 12 is $600 a year! Now how hard was that? Make more sites, get more money. Simple.
I appreciate your honesty, but why would you say there is no way to make $5,000/month? That doesn't make any sense. The owner of DigitalPoint makes well over $12,000/month from this website alone so that statement is false. The owner of ShoeMoney.com makes $100k+ some months. Quitting my job was a decision my wife and I both made; she urged me into it. She just wants to see progress, that's all. It's reasonable for her to want to see progress; I would too! I don't think it's a mistake and if it turns out to be one, it's a risk I'm willing to take. No success comes without failures. As far as the multiplication idea, I'm going to attempt that and give feedback once progress is made.
If you have good php/mysql skills then go to freelance work or even make your own unique script and make a website to sell it and give away some free copies in the beginning and ask for testimonials and this will make a good name for you in the market to start with
It depends on how much time you have on your hands on a daily basis. If you can try to achieve your goal as a full time job than you should probably try everything from adsense on some sites to referral programs and selling stuff on ebay. I still think it will be very though to reach your goal, 5k/month is quite a big amount of money. Good luck!
Hello Scott, I remember two things I read somewhere..: "Find a need and fill it" ... said to be the rule number one for start ups.. I remember also... that in order to come up with a $1 million idea... you need to look for a simple need, I mean a very simple one, something that EVERYBODY is already buying, that can be very cheap, but that nobody had the idea to sell it online... eh.. I do not even remember this case study so if someone does .. I heard also that you can jointventure with some great company offering to them a product you develope yourself, they can use it as a bonus with the package of their products, and then they would pay you margin after they benefit.. Well I think it's all I can think about for the moment I wonder what will be the answer you're after, I'm sure it exists, and if you heard of some people who's skills are close to yours, making $5000/month, maybe it's a good thing doing search about how they do it. Wow! What a blahblah ! I hope something made sense
i just skimmed through the entire thread, but I'm with MorgansMom. Create your own product and market it through your sites or affiliates. GET THAT AUTORESPONDER! that is the one thing that will determine where your next paycheck is from. i'm starting on that path right now, i've nothing to show, but i believe that if you dedicate enough time to it, you'll easily make it in under a year.
Well they all started a long time ago... Nowadays it's getting harder to find any niche you can fill. Anyway, focus on what you can do, not on what others did... And stay away from Adsense and similar programs. It is not working like "if one site makes $5 a day then 100 would make $500 a day". I have a lot of website but never could break the $1,000 barrier with adsense. The explanation is easy: Iam repeating myself, and G can spot that out. Real money is in selling real, unique products. I wish you good luck!
