I've been seeing these ebooks advertised for a few years now and I know the contents will be a load of crap as they get rich schemes tend to be but I'm curious as to what this one is actually supposed to be telling you to do? Is it stock photos?

Well, I do not know about the ebooks that you are taking about. But I do make some money with my digital camera by uploading pictures on various stock-photo sites. I am still not making that big, but when I am able to devote enough time to those sites by submitting quality pictures, I am able to make around $150-300 per month. It is not difficult once you get hold of it. I am doing this for the past 4 months with average success.

I'm not sure if you're referring to the blog post about making money from photography, but as far as I know you need a digital camera for all the ways you can make money with photos. Reason is simple: you just upload the picture, which is already in digital format, to your hard drive, and from there on to the Internet. If you use an SLR, you have to scan the pictures after developing them, and then upload to the Internet. Unless of course you use a digital single-lens reflex camera (DSLR)...

I was referring to the difference between a compact digital camera and a DSLR. I know that compact digital cameras don't take photos that are as good as a DSLR, and I want to know if it is possible to make money with photos taken using a compact digital camera.

It depends on many things, like how you intend to make money with your photos. If the photos need to be professional photography shots, you'd probably need more than a DSLR - you'll also need some advanced skills as a photographer. With other ways to make money with your pics, like snapshots of things you or other people want to sell on eBay, an ordinary compact will do. It also depends on subject. Some people take amazing photos with their compact of landscapes or strange scenes or events that a lot of people would love to use. And that, of course, will also make you money.

It is not hare to achieve it .
Have a digital camera, take some photots and send to news agence, magazine. They are mostly pay you .
The price is not low . If you can take rare photos of hot news, you are more easily to earn some money.

I am glad that you find my post useful. Coming to the difference between a compact digital camera and a DSLR, agree a compact digital camera is not as good as a DSLR, but Microstock companies still accept good quality compact digital camera photos. Please note that there is still a minimum standard like 3.0 megapixel picture quality. If you have a compact digital camera which is capable of taking photos of 3.0 and more megapixel quality, then you still can make money. DSLR could be the ultimate target. Hope clarifies.

It does, and thank you for taking the time to clarify. My Compact is a Canon rated at 8 megapixels so I assume if I can take some nice photos that are technically correct I could probably get some of them listed in the microstock sites, and that would be exciting. A DSLR might be a future upgrade but for now my knowledge of using a camera is restricted to seeing a scene I like and setting my white balance...
