Hello SEO gurus.. I just want to ask if those anyone here know how to maintain a certain position in google? I mean if you are on the top position or maybe in 1 to 5 how would you maintain that... The competition is very hard!!! how those it done?
SEO is not just a one off thing, it is a continuous process. Once you reach the top there is only one way to go: down. To maintain your ranking just continue to use the same techniques that got you to number one on the first place.
First you need to check out competition, what are they doing, what is their ranking. Second keep link building, blogging, submitting articles and all the seo that you've used before, and still there is no guarantee that you'll maintain your rank.
1. Keep changes with quality content, 2. link building 3. social book marking and article submissions is the best way to maintain our rankings. think about traffic resources so i think, traffic most important after got top positions. thanks john
I think I've read same question like that in this forum.Anyways,I just answer what they said. you just need to continue what you're doing and remember how you get on that position. Build links and create good content on your site.
yea you need to keep seoing. What i do is once I hit rank # 1 i'll stop seoing and see if the natural seo is enough. Once i start to drop ranking I'll start doing seo again to boost the rank.
My opinion is just do all seo tasks continiously like socialbookmarking, articlesubmission, blog commenting, forum posting ,squidoo lens, gatherpage, zimbio pages,word press........ and all seo tasks.you will be at high position forever.
1) you should check your meta first and place this keyword in meta keywords, meta description, or meta data. You can also place this keyword one more time on your page (top or in content). Just do simple stuff to see if it helps. 2) Build some extra backlinks using the same keyword or similar key phrases. 3) Post article
Ok. I have a site that ranks very low for "poker forums". I am thinking about purchasing a service to put me to the front page. If I do not link build will I drop very rapidly the moment the service stops?
The most important thing to be on top always or to maintain at least maintain your ranking at Search Engine Optimization is to have a good content. Make it sure that you have always good content which is very relevant to your site, keep on changing and upgrade your site into the latest facts that has to do with the content of your website. ;-)

You need to do things to produce a self re-enforcing rank. What are these "things" you ask, well one example is build a useful script with your link and give it away for free. Do you think sites like Wordpress, or phpBB must continually link build every day? Of course not, they have a self re-enforcing system in place to build authority while they sleep. There are plenty of things you can do in your niche. I generally rank first page for "SEO", sometimes as high as #4 above SEOBook.com for the term and i haven't built a link or touched my site since last year and this is one of the most competitive keywords in the field . So it's definitely possible to hold rank without continual effort.
You can maintain the good ranking against any specific keyword just by supporting that keyword with quality links continuously.
