Someone Please guide me how can i list my b2b trade marketplace website in Dmoz. while i have not listed on single time but afraid to list, as i have go through the forum and read that many are listed lots of time but not get listed and get warn list only one time. so i don't want to miss a chance of listing so some experts please review my site and guide how should i list my site to Dmoz Directory Thanks
Why bother? Make a Google+ page for it instead, get it listed with the address, contact details, etc. Encourage customers to make reviews. This will benefit you far more than a directory listing.
i can understand but still every where says dmoz not listed so that's why i am interested to list my site in dmoz
I have attempted to get my site listed many times (about once a year over the last 10 years), but apparently I don't know the secret handshake or am part of the wrong political party or whatever. It would be nice, but I've put it in the "it doesn't matter" category since I'm doing just fine without it. I give up.
I tried many times for days and months..but never get listed even my site has a good reputable point. But figured out, don't have to waste much time on it. I tried other ways .. and my site got a good rank from now. Just to let you know about that.
I just do not understand the mentality of those who deliberately break the guidelines that they agree they had read and understood and then have the audacity to complain.... go figure
But I did read it: Why did you submit your site more than once? You agreed when you submitted that you had read and understood the guidelines ... obviously not, which is why I said: There is a good probably that DMOZ might have banned you for spamming them with your multiple suggestions! You are probably the reason that you did not get listed! Care to explain why you deliberately broke the guidelines that you agreed to and agreed that you understood?
Maybe he was led by example? I am sure that Skrenta only submitted Topix one time to get his 20,000 listings even though the guidelines clearly state that is against the rules. Though, if you are asked to submit (and as there is a button to submit, that IS asking), and it can take 10 years to get a listing... what does that make DMOZ? what is the opposite of a spammer? Maybe, just maybe, a lot of these so called spammers would not find the need to submit more than once, if the ODP would find it within their hearts to list some suggested sites now and again? TEN YEARS it can take, and you call the submitter out on bad form? LOL
I'd like to say it's good to see you back Q, but your tired old comments, rebutted on many previous occasions, have dissuaded me.
You must be playing an old vinyl 78 record and it needs a new needle, Q. Scratchy, old, tinny and slow.
I am editor in odp too, i agree with Qryztufre that is difficult listing at dmoz. But dmoz submission is free.. Yahoo directory asks for 300 $ and listing is uncertain . I believe that relative directories with good pr are very helpfull for your site dmoz submission : no advertising words good syntax description in 3rd person( not: our ,mine,us // use :this company, that etc) submit to the right category
There are still a couple of editors that pretend the dead is still alive so they can collect a couple of bucks from people who don“t know any better. Look around and you know who I mean.
