    Hi guys

Some of my friends have started an online community, mainly for students.

Page views is somwewhere around 1200-3000 per day.

Is there a way by which we can submit the site to DMOZ and have more chances of getting it approved ?

    http://www.sharetermpapers.com

Sharetermpapers is a user managed information sharing community. Users can share, download and upload their projects, term papers, presentations, documents, research papers, cases and ebooks etc.

    "Share term papers"?

Seriously... encouraging students to "network" in a method that sounds like what is normally called "cheating" is just sleazy. A step above selling drugs on the elementary campus, but same genre.

Personally I wouldnt add it on a bet, but the little button that says "suggest a site" is the method by which you can try. Maybe the editor that sees it will lack a soul too.

Subject matter of the site aside, it's almost impossible to get listed at DMOZ nowadays. Run a search on DP re people's experiences with DMOZ applications and you'll know what I mean.

There's a lot of self-interested "editors" at DMOZ.

Guess that is meant to exclude the ones that've come in excited about their listing getting added eh? LOL :)

The objective of ShareTermPapers.com is not cheating but to help students in getting stuff which will help them in understanding and reproducing the assignments etc.
It's just like a senior giving you a guidance and helping you to improve.

    Hey, whatever helps you sleep.

You have your answer, this is an information forum, not the submissions queue. If you want to submit your sleazeball site, go for it, we can't do it for you.

If you want us to pat your head and pretend you're providing a service instead of risking kids school careers, dream on.

I don't agree with you because if one wants to copy something then there's more than enough material on the internet already. But it's not for copying but for providing reference material to students directly from students.

Anyways, thanks for sharing your thoughts and comments.
Thanks to lordspace as well :)

Didn't ask for nor expect agreement. I don't speak for Dmoz, the disgust was my own. Your courtesy is admirable, but the most probable use of your site isn't. Apparently based on your answer, you don't read it.
I find the student needing a report on "Student Ethics" particularly charming. I don't support assisted grade suicide, but anyone stupid enough to use this site for the method it is obviously going to be used probably needs to be culled from the student body anyway. Helping them do it is still low / base / asinine {pick one}.

If it has unique content, that is the only real rule. Once you have that, submit to just any old category, and if the site fancies the editor that happens across it, then it'll get added.
