At least 90% of senior editors are not there because it is hobby. It is a business for them and they will not let you or anyone else who thinks odp is a hobby destroy their income. The only hope for odp is as DMOZ is going down, their income will go down to and they decide to leave because is too little money to stay around as you can see with some former editors who joined other directories or are trying to become moderators in different forums. The only problem with this solution is that by the time all of this people leave, DMOZ will be even more dead than already is. By the way this is my old thread with DMOZ price list and how to buy it: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=445035
You have read photofox's DMOZ background, have you? You have several senior editors and some even admins, posting on here and you tell us that 90% of us are bent. You are just a joke gworld, grinding the old,old axe.Which cat did you get booted from? Remind me.
There are roughly 300 editors with higher permissions (senior editors), by your logic 270 of those editors are accepting money... That's just ridiculous and totally incorrect.
It is not only about accepting money, link exchange, affiliate sites,..... There are many ways of doing it and as long as you are not ready to change the way DMOZ works, the corruption and decline continues. The real estate link farms operated by former editor is a prime example.
Of course... See, a completed transaction for an ODP LISTING with positive feedback is not proof to any editor. It is for a LISTING, not a SUBMISSION, it has positive feedback for exactly what was asked for. If you would like to know what site, category, or editor, please see the first part of your quote, or the part below this for why that is not being shared Do you really expect anyone buying or selling to offer up such information? If it's not enough that there are COMPLETED transactions with POSITIVE feedback to say this is going on, then I am sorry you are unwilling to see the truth. The link I gave is NOT the only one on scriptlance, there are more places then sriptlance that are offering such things. Are you honestly trying to say they all meant SUBMISSION and are all for $100 for something that is done for free? Seriously? Many sites offer $10 submissions, and you can do it yourself for free... why pay $100 or $200 for that? Now what is HARD to come by these days is actually getting listed. That is worth a bit more, to those that think such a listing is end all of SEO.
dmoz takes very long time to list a website, maybe many years. So, forget about dmoz. You can still make your blog more visible in search engines by posting natural & good contents in your blog. Write good articles about your blog & post it in top article sites.
hi . friends please keep patience DMOZ is the very big site and take time to accept any to listed site on dmoz
If you have your blog on blogspot, google's blogging network, you'll get a boost from that search engine already. No one uses DMOZ, DMOZ doesn't come up in search results and Google doesn't need DMOZ's help unless it's looking for dead links from 1997. I'm surprised this forum still exists, I have been here in a while.
