How to limit text in search results and category pages?

    Hi,

    I am new to this CMS (Wordpress)

    I have been trying to setup my blog, so far so good except for this one little problem:

    When I search the site for content, on the results page, instead of just showing a few words from each result, it shows the whole article / post. The same goes for my category pages. This is rather messy, and user unfriendly in my opinion.

    Is there any way that I can limit the text from each result from the search results and limit the text from each post on my category pages? Is there even a plugin that does this?

    Please help!

    I have used this plugin before on my wordpress site
    Dave's WordPress Live Search

    Im not using it currently but its one of my fav search plugins

    I have this installed on the wordpress site I am working on, but I want to limit text from each search result on the search results page, instead of letting it just show the whole post.
