How to limit number of posts shown on the main page???

I am using wordpress theme for my blog (shown in my signature). I have no idea how to limit number of posts on the main page like if I want 10 or 15 posts to be shown on single page then how do I do it? and to visits rest of the posts via previous link.

 

Settings / Reading / Blog pages show at most X posts.

Change X to what you want.

 

Also, be careful to install the Auto Excerpts plugin to get rid of the duplicate content, so that Google would love your page/site.

 

The problem with setting no of post from setting page is that it sets the same no of limit to all the categories and archive pages. so there is a simple solution is in the form of page limit plugin. It can limit no of pages on every category.

 

You can also use Sticky-Post-Orderer to have a sticky posts on your site.
