how to limit a file download times

    I'm a newbie to server management i have a vps with 2tb bandwidth and i only use about 400gb of that bandwidth and i run a site like softpedia to download software and i upload the programes to file hosting like megaupload and rapidshare and it works fine to me
    but i wanna offer something special for my regular visitors to download the softwares directly from my vps but i want to limit the number of downloads for each file just to save the bandwidth and to limit the download for each ip
    so everyone can download the file one time and the file can only be downloaded 10 times with direct download

    yes php will do the trick, it has nothing to do with server configuration in your case. :)
