We have 10 new blogs on different domains, and would like to know if the pinging really makes a difference in terms of having google crawl & index the pages? How do you usually do if you want google to crawl then index your new blog? I understand that building quality contents is the king of everything in seo. but is that it?
Just try to make add frequent fresh informative content with optimized keyword density. One daily blog post is very helpful to to index and crawl your all pages at very faster rate.
I installed an xml sitemap plugin that creates a sitemap and pings Google and other Search engines when you add a post, I can say honestly that within 30 minutes maximum of me posting on any of my blogs, the posts are showing up in Google results.

Maybe its just me but I have found pinging doesn't seem to do a great deal - I just submit an updated site map with the new URL within it and that seems to do the trick.
Writing for a search engine isn't going to get your content indexed any faster, and according to most reputable experts, keyword stuffing is not a good use of your time. Pinging is better i feel..just ping the posts..Everything Will be done..they can be well indexed..and ofcourse can try additional things though
install a blogger blog! its owned by google. There you post hey, i will write on blogs a, b & c. Google always indexes its own.. so you even get a free link from it.
Im only talking about indexing. So you create an account, link to your own blogs. "Hey, i will be blogging on these sites a,b,c,d.com with link" and google will index the sites fairly immediately. D
