how to learn web-design

if i wish to learn complete website design then which things i need to learn like flash, css....i have no knowledge. Will u suggest me please? Mean i want to be a complete web designer, so that i no need to knock any one for help. I wanna be all in one in web design. Please suggest me.

as far as my definition goes of web design, you'll be able to design and convert it into html / css page. For web design using photoshop, try to browse some good sites to serve as your inspiration. When I say inspiration, it is not by copying it. They are totally different in meaning. Go browse at google some photoshop tutorials if you are a total newbie in that software. After successfully designing it's time to convert to HTML. If you are totally new to this, go check w3schools, it's far the most basic but one of the best resource in html development and css.

 

Learning the softwares and the languages are great and all but the other thing you must have is creativity

Just experiment with HTML and you'll get the hang of it.

w3schools.com is the best place for learning almost any computer language! but for flash, I'll suggest you to search on youtube for some good video tutorials on flash!

PHP, MySql for server side scripting.

CSS and photoshop for designing the look of the page.

Photoshop is used for designing graphics that can be used in the website through CSS.

1. Learn Adobe photoshop - to design w simple website you do not need special skills ( the most important is an IDEA ) you can do a great design using just a simple 1 shape, 2 fonts, and one photo. There are many video tutorials how to do a whole website design.

- in my expirience i know that meny webdevelopers uses photoshop to slice psd files and than code it to html and css
2. FOCUS on design first.. if you feel you can do a nice webdesign , you can start learning simple css and html just to make your designs live.
3. FOCUS on desigm again ( learn, learn, learn .... )
4. read smashingmagazine or instatnshift and learn about webdesign trends ( you have to learn new styles not old ones )
5. spend every free minute with photoshop ... trying new effects ( do not make tutorials like " how to make fire text effect or ice text effect ) i have never used it in my 6 years of expirience as webdesignr lol
6. if you spend 5-6 months learning - you will be good.
