How to learn php?

Hi,

I know quite a few members here know how to use php.I was wondering how you learn it as i would really like to.

Well, start by using google to look for tutorials;
I would suggest w3schools.

Then from there all it takes is practicing and make simple scripts.
If you know any other languages, it should be fairly simple to adapt, regardless learning a language isn't very hard.
Your first one just takes a little more time.

A tutorial will help you out no end, and theres 2 very good ones quoted on there. You dont need any books, training, seminars if you are willing to study on your own

 

Just read books and try to write somethig again again and again

 

The first basic thing that i would suggest is, just goto http://www.w3schools.com and learn what are the basic things that are needed to write a first program in PHP. They will tell you a clear understanding of the PHP coding structure.

 

i read a book about php and at the same time : i imagine some task in my head and i code it in PHP as a simple program when im stuck i read the php manual www.php.net.
last but not least i try use other programs i coded in college in vb.net and try to convert some to PHP

 

Best thing to do is find a simple script that you can take apart and put back together, expand upon it, just allout rewrite it too.

Also, www.php.net/manual is your bible... I've been programming PHP for 6 years and I still reference it daily.

 

Read a book about PHP and join some programming forums.

 

please learn the programming concept first , if you know basic concept first it is very easy to learn any programming language , it you are absolute beginner please get some tuition form someone who know php , after that you can read book and learn stuffs fast

 

Read a book.. Learn the concepts.. Read tutorials.. etc. etc. are probably what most people would say here.

Here's my advice: do you have the passion to learn it? The motivation to learn it? If you do, then trust me. You'll learn it in no time. You have all the information you need, you just need to process those information.

 

just learn form the online sites.. and start the simple projects..., so that you will be the expert with your hardwork..

if u wanna become expert in php plz avoid w3school bcoz its simply very basic
to learn lot n lot go to php.net which is the large source for php

You should start with the basics first, obviously.

 

there are a lot of php programming tutorials online and there are also a lot of books about php if you are big on reading.

Ya ya you also correct, but with out learn the basics what we can do in php.net

 

I would suggest going to a library and getting some course books and language books.
