How To know Who Is bidding for my company name and using my site as landing page

    Hi

I had this very strange situation.

We are about to create a google adwords account and find ourselves looking an active ad showing on google.com when we search for our company name.
And as we click on the ad it lands to our website as well.
One thing for sure this ad is created by anybody from our company.

I am wondering is there a way that we could know who is bidding for that?

hey angelfire - not odd that someone is bidding on your company name - I do this all the time with our competitors ;-) quite odd that it actually re-directs through to your site though. Probable no way you can find who is doing it, but you can probably ask google to remove the ad as it's directing through to your site...

Does your company have an affiliate program or outside sales folks who would receive commission for qualified leads?

This could explain why someone would be bidding on your company name and sending traffic to your site.

If this isn't the case, then you are getting free traffic which is a sweet deal when you think about it...:)

If the ad is due to an affiliate program you should see an affiliate code at the end of the URL.

If there is no code and it is definitely in the ads section you are getting free traffic, if you ever find out how it has happened let us know.

If someone else uses your website url as their display url and if you dont want that, please contact Google. It means the other party/affiliate has violated your terms.

You can always file for a trademark on you url, then you can use it to stop everyone from using your url without your consent. But if someone is paying to push traffic to your site, then that is a good thing in my eyes.
