How to know which keyword are easy or hard to rank for?

When it comes to keyword research, what strategy do you guys follow? The keyword difficulty score varies for the same keyword if you enter it in different keyword research tools, so that's kind of unreliable.
But when I check the stats of the sites ranking on page 1 for a particular keyword, what is the threshold I should tend to stick to?
I've been sticking to a DA and PA of less than 30 for at least 1 of the first 5 results so it's correct or not? and please correct me if I'm wrong

well when you doing keyword research one thing you need to keep in your mind is that any keyword which have high competition it is hard to get rank.

Not sure why stated this. As per my understand only matters what kind of competitors are on top 10 those are exactly targeting the same keywords.
For example, if you select the keywords those have very less no. of search volume and competition but if the same keywords are being targeted by the big brand or well-authorized sites then it is quite impossible to rank on top 10.

 

You need to use google keyword planner and if you want a easy rank in google so you need a Long tail keyword which is help easy to rank for your website

A number of different factors. Long tail easier to rank for, less competitive niches easier to rank for, check competition if they are hiring SEO, etc.

 

Choosing a keyword with good volume, but not too much volume, In general you don’t want to target a keyword that has low relative search volume if there’s an equivalent term that is much more popular.
