How to know where does a site host?

    i want to know where where does a site host. is there any way or tool to know? for share hosting, it seem it is more easy. for dedicated server, how to know that?

    Just check the nameservers. Go to www.whois.sc and you'll get all the info you need.

    does this work with reseller accounts where they used those dns service that registered a different nameserv

    I had a host that I found out the actual host after his service fell apart. The actual host was actually a lot cheaper

    if it's a dedicated box either do a reverse dns on the ip or do whios on the ip. A whois would tell you who owns the ip (most of the time the hosting company). If they actualy bought the ip doing a reverse dns will tell you who is routing it. That is definitly their hosting company.
