Hey guys, I'm doing SEO works lately and I'm wondering if I did the right way or most known as White Hat SEO? I'm worried on what will be the effect on my sites if I mislead and did the other way which is Black Hat.. I really need your help about this guys. Thanks! Regards Krowon
The best rule of thumb on this is use common sense...if you are not sure about a particular technique, then you probably shouldn't do it. You can also try to do a Google search and see what information you can find on a particular method you are looking at implementing. Additionally, I would also recommend setting up Google webmasters account and monitor it closely.
There are a lot of resources online about black hat and white hat SEO. Here is a link to some comparisons: http://www.pushon.co.uk/articles/top-5-white-hat-and-black-hat-search-optimisation-techniques/. White hate SEO is the way to go because even if you get results up front, in the long run it is best for your site.
Have you reviewed the Google Webmaster Guidelines. That's usually a very good place to start: http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=35769
Wow! Thanks for your all quick replies! Your helped is very much appreciated. I'll try to give a shot and read all of the resources available online.. Thanks! Krowon
Hi Krowon ! White hat seo is where you obey the search engine rules and do not use manipulative methods which would be against their TOS. Basically original content and natural links would be white hat. Black hat is where you disobey any rules which will be productive to your temporary search engine success. Black hats will use any means at their disposal to gain rankings and because of that they tend to get caught after a while. That is why most good black hats recycle domains frequently and keep restarting new ones to keep the money flowing. The upside to white hat is long-term continued success. The up-side to black hat is short-term and perhaps faster success but which is limited. Black hat also takes some experience or you will get caught and banned before you make a dime Hope that answered your question. -IT GiG
you can also check your website in meta tags analyzer.it will shows you the basic mistakes if you have done any black hat SEO.
Hidden text, keyword stuffing, links from bad neighborhood sites are the black hat SEO techniques. Don't use them. If you are not using this techniques then you are using white hat SEO
