I still don't understand. How to know how many searchers in our targeted keywords? Only google trends? Because when I checked from many keyword tools (including from DP), they all have different results. Even when I checked from adwords.google.com/select/TrafficEstimatorSandbox and from google trends, both have different results (for example, I typed my targeted keyword in traffic estimator sandbox, it has many searchers, the bar is filled half of it. But when I checked my keyword in google trends, there is even no graphic displayed!). How can this happen and what must we use then?
Google trends is used to compare search volumes compare to other keywords. You can setup adwords (at your own risk) for an excat keyword and try to bid the lowest to get on the first page and monitor the traffic that way.
I don't know of any tool that can accurately tell you how many google searches are done for keywords. I tend to use wordtracker, as it uses reults from over a number of different SE's http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/
Use Google Adwords & Google Suggest. Its best. Google Trends is displayed wid yr KW Countrywise Search Volume Popularity. Displayed two KW comparison in which country it has very well known & popular.
I think you have to take a look at all the tools results and not place too much trust in one alone. Take a look at the overall picture as there is no perfect tool out there.
what do you mean with "Google Adwords" and "Google Suggest"? Do you think Google traffic estimator sandbox would be enough? @Mike Taylor: I know, but the results are completely different each other. Read my first post in this thread: "when I checked from adwords.google.com/select/TrafficEstimatorSandbox and from google trends, both have different results (for example, I typed my targeted keyword in traffic estimator sandbox, it has many searchers, the bar is filled half of it. But when I checked my keyword in google trends, there is even no graphic displayed!)."
IMO there's no such thing as an accurate tool for keyword analysis.. most of them are estimation and based on some other tool's database.. Well i'm using word Wordtracker and Overture(for keyword related KW suggestions though it's not updated yet)...
Yes, I know. But I am very curious about google trends and google adwords (traffic estimator sandbox), why they differ so greatly?
then you better focus on one keyword suggestion tool,, inventory.overture gives your searches per month while dp webmaster tool (kw suggestion) gives you clicks per day.
Try getting the software called "Good keywords" it is free. It's a nifty tool that can load a few sources and countries. Take the numbers with a pinch of salt though. They are not 'exact' numbers, but they are 'relative' meaning you can work out what is search more than other terms based on the numbers
I think your comparing tools for two different purposes here. Google trends is a long term tool looking at search volume of keywords over years... and gives an indicator of whether search volume for certain keywords are currently on the increase or decrease (useful for forward planning)... TE sandbox is looking at recent search volume for a certain keyword with sponsored search in mind so this may be why they might appear to differ. Personally i use a combination of Overture, Adwords keyword tool and Wordtracker. If all three show a substantial search volume its a pretty good indicator that there are alot of users out there searching for it.
The best way is to use the tools mentioned above - then run adwords campaign for a month to check the data
trends looks at searches while the traffic estimator looks at actual clicks. I have tried to use trends for keyword research but there is never enough data for tail keywords only for very generic keywords. Best bet is to use adwords with the overture tool. The overture tool hasn't had its data updated since early this year so don't rely on it too much.
