How to know if my article is copied ?

I do not put backlink on my old articles.
How do i know if someone copies my article and posts it on his / her own web without noticing me?
I can't just search them on Google, for example if i have a long article, it'll be confusing what keywords should i use on searching.

    Thanks for any opinion.

Use a long phrase from your article (5-10 words) in quotes on searching. For example, your query will look like:
"I can't just search them on Google, for example if"

The fastest and best way is to go to copyscape.com. You can enter a url where your article is or the content of your article to see if anyone else is using it.

Yep. This will work. You can set up an alert for them, too - so you will be notified once a phrase appears. Don't just use the title. Thieves often change the titles of pieces they steal.

Google Alert, Copyscape and Google searches of unique strings of text enclosed by quotes will do the job for sure.

There is a major website who has scrapers looking for their content. I had a forum member post a bit of an article and they sent me a legal letter requesting it be taken down.

Thanks for the tips.. I recently paid someone to write a few ghostwritten articles for me and found out that they were basically copies of what someone else had written, just a few words here and there changed. Luckily the original author contacted me and was very nice about once I told her the story.

Do your research before hiring/purchasing these kinds of articles!

You can Google phrases from your article or you can use Copyscape. Both are great techniques that I find helpful.

You could use The Plagiarism Checker website.

It searches for phrases on Google as suggested above but the good thing is it does all that automatically. You won't have to type the text yourself and it searches for most of the stuff not just for a single phrase. Just copy and paste the whole text in the box and then hit the button...
