    hmm. How to beat google:

    1. Get good search results (means fast results and good ones)
    2. Have a good image search such as live image search
    3. Get a design like yahoo
    4. Work with years
    5. WARNING: Don't sell your site to microsoft or you won't beat google, and that would mean that google won the battle again!
    6. Do this for 10 years and you'll likely see results.

note: IF nonthing left just hack google and add some banners pointing to your search engine on the main page. That should help you get some traffic :D

Of course. Yahoo was huge in 98, and it's since been eclipsed by Google. Remember how big AskJeeves, Excite and Lycos were back then? All overshadowed by Google now.

The internet moves quick, and I can give you tons of examples of big dot coms that have faded. Eventually, even Google will fade ...

as many search engines are popping out every day I strongly believe that google WILL get beaten very soon! Remember Altavista? Remember that you were all saying that "NO one can beat IE" but look what happened with firefox...

Well it uses Yahoo results now, so if there were any good before (it was before my time), it isn't now.

Google may face the same monopoly issues that Microsoft faced a few years back. It's already getting to the point where you can't make a living on the web without playing by Google's rules. We are all at the whim of their algorythm and pagerank BS. When they get too big, they'll be taken down, and a new upstart will take their place.

In 10 years we may all be interfacing with the web in a different way - No more keyboards, no more HTML - all websites will be audio & video, and search may be done by speech recognition. Who knows?

The easiest way to kill Google (if someone would like to do that) is stopping being its slaves by avoid using its services.

No traffic, no revenue, no success and then a consequent death [IMG][IMG]

My question is why would you WANT to kill google? If lets say Google falls apart, some brand new search engine won't replace their place. Microsoft + Yahoo will probobly step in. Meaning more $$$ for Bill Gates.
