I have built and perfected what I believe could be a major online contender in the pet supply industry. However, my sales are very very low. I have super-competitive pricing, free shipping, and a 100% satisfaction guarantee. Although, the orders are only trickling in. I am in desperate need of some advice on how to drive serious traffic and buyers to my store immediately. Literally, I want sales NOW! Obviously, PPC is a suggestion... so please, avoid recommending that. I want to hear something different! (Ex. eBay? Shopping.com? etc.) I just don't understand how I can get people to my website, because if they will get there, they will buy.
I guess going on ebay is good... just make sure make your page direct viewers to your website... probably with links to your website. You can also create advertisements for google. Leaving comments on blogs related to your niche would also be a good way to go. I hope you find something that would work out for you.
Hi dr00t, How about letting us see your site so we can be more specific in our advice? Why not post your URL in your signature file via the "User CP" tab? How often are you posting fresh content to your site? If and when you do that, what do you do next? Do you blog? How many pet forums are you building a presence on?
Bold statement ( because if they will get there, they will buy. ) you have 64,600,000 other sites in the pet supply industry and a lot of them also offers have super-competitive pricing, free shipping, and a 100% satisfaction guarantee. So what makes your site really unique? Do you have a listing in dmoz, is the site seo? do you exchange links with other sites, have you got good content and loads of it? because the ones I have just named will certainly get you a lot of traffic if done right, but its a lot of hard work and takes a lot of time, other site owners in your business have already done this to get listed high in the search engines and unless you also are willing to put the time and effort into the business it probably will never get much traffic. Dont take what I said the wrong way, I only said it to help, trust me I have sat up all night exchanging links for many many months and writing content, seo the site and pulling my hair out when it was not going right, but I had to if I wanted to compete in my market, and I still have to if I want to stay competitive.. Regards
list all your products on ebay, make sure you have a logo with your domain name on. You might sell some stuff but you will definately get traffic. I've listed about 100 of my products and am getting 400 uniques / day from ebay to the assosiated shop. Other shops I've put banners/links to on that shop are getting sales from nowhere as well. When i was on 0 budget for marketing a clothes shop, I merely attatched a fashion blog and wrote articles related to the clothes i was selling.. therefore the search engine traffic was targeted and often converted to easy sales.
I run a couple of auctions per week on eBay, but you definitely need to careful. It's against their ToS to include a link to a website selling the same product (or any other products for that matter). I probably did it for a good few months, before being flagged and warned. Now, I'm sure my account will be flagged and they'll be keeping a closer eye on my listings. Nevertheless though, it is still a great way to initially get your site out there. Just remember to take into consideration all of your fees: eBay fees (listing and final value fee), Paypal fees, postage fees. If your margins aren't high enough, eBay may not be a feasible solution - unless you want to take a deficit in order to get your name out there.
For instant traffic you could try traffic exchanges - but the surfers are very unlikely to click on your site. Dont forget the long term view and post ads in free classified sites.
It depends, are you acting as an intermediary for a drop-shipping company or are you selling direct from your business, or are you directing people to amazon/ebay stores? I too have a couple sites in the pet industry and although these sites are doing really really well, it takes some effort. My sites feed off of my physical store, so inventory isn't as big a deal and I have my inventory tied into the physical store DB and my online stores. Since we are in the same niche I'm reluctant to provide too much help but submit a product feed to google, get some quality articles written with backlinks and do some general link building. The more links to your site with targeted keywords they higher you'll rank. Good luck!
And a targeted blog campaign, asking blog writers to insert a post talking about your shop. Sometimes, you have to send "sample products" to have influent blog posts.
we can help you to build your marketing stretergy, send us more details about your site and structure as we have varioud lead generation option may be useful to you but its not free just keep in mind but will generate 100% sales leads. Thanks
Traditional search engine optimization is your best bet. Make sure all your product pages are optimized and have content relating to the product and start doing some seo. Also start a blog and do some link bait style posts and promote them on social media sites. You should also network with blog owners and get them to post about your store.
List your products in Google product search. You can list your products in the other price comparison search engines, but generally there is a cost associated with it. There are other things you can do as well but much of that depends on your site's design.
Have you considered Shopping Comparison sites? If you don't have a large inventory you can spread it thin across a boatload of sites.
