You could add your URL to more directories
you could also get some link excahnges sorted
Add some more 'unique' content to your website

That is the way to go

You will need to maintain some level of link growth to stay there, and maybe climb higher.

Directories will likely do it for you.

Some strategic link trades with some other popular related sites for both traffic trading and seo will help you stay there.

Building links such as submitting my site to directories?
Is it true that the more directories i submit my site to, the better?

How else do you build links besides link exchanges and submitting your site to directories?

    seo noob here.

Submitting to as many directories as possible is vital.
You can use link exchange sites such as link market

There are loads of tools but they can be really crap and expensive. Best to pay someone to do them for you.
1,000 directries is good but that could be improved

Improve by about 100 every month of so then that will keep your site on its toes and will save you time submitting to 1,000s at a time

I always try to keep the text the same as my page title and description as this keeps it simple but also helps your ranking a little

If your already at number 3 without directory links then you will not need to go nuts and get yourself submitted to 1000+ directories as fast as you can.

Submiting to 200 or 300 over the next little while and then submiting to maybe 25-50 per month will help you solidify your rankings in Yahoo and maybe slowly improve your rankings in google.

You could pay someone to do the submissions for you. There are a few who offer directory submission services here on DP. It's cheap and will save you hours and hours of work.

YES, pay attention to your link text in the directories. Use at least 3 different variations on your main key word phrases. And use at least 2 different descriptions. Write a good descriptive desription about your site. Dont jam the description full of keywords. A well writen description is more likely to be accepted by more directories.

Pay to be in a few of the bigger paid inclusion directories.

Other link opportunities would include blogs. Get some bloggers to throw a blurb about your site onto their blog. Ask them nicely, or pay them.

Buy and trade links with other myspace resource sites.
