I think most of the tools are stupid, I've checked a site and one of the tools say it has a fake pr. well, it can't have because it's my site and I was the first one to use the domain and sure I've never made any redirects, it was PR0 when I bought it and now it's PR2 with www and PR3 without www (this is fixed and will combine the links in the next update). it has more than 950 backlinks in Google webmaster.
Do you know why some tools say it's fake? Because the domain is relatively new and when you search for it in Google using info:www.domainname.com , it returns no results, so the stupid tools say it's fake!

My advice: use the manual way and check for links to the domain yourself!
