some one know how to install IonCube on cpanel. Is this something we do at the cPanel level or at VPS server level? My host is asking for $45.00 to install, so I want to try this myself. Do we need to install zend when we install IonCube? Any suggestions on this would be appreciated.. Thanks
Hello there, It is simple to do, just use EasyApache through your WHM interface and include the IonCube module. Chris
can we add IonCube through cpanel? That way sites without Ioncube requirement can not have it installed? Do I need to install or configure Zend optimizer when we add Ioncube? This looks so simple - not sure why they asked $45.00 What are the chances of me missing up something else? As it is re-building Apache?
Hello Again, Yes, it can be added through WHM(cPanel). Do you have root access to your server? If you would like, I can install if for you, just let me know. Chris
Out of curiosity, who is your current provider? Others may want to know They may be an unmanaged provider but I can't reason such a charge for a such a simple job. You're not likely to mess anything up, it's fairly straight forward, just make sure you include all the necessary modules/extras you need for your sites to work.
I thought the cPanel option comes with managed option. I just found out today that my VPS is un-managed.. They are cheaper.. ($20.00 for a 1GB Ram , 1 vCPU -- with cPanel included) Bad part is they want to charge for a min of 30 Min @ $90/hour On the other note: Are your VPS managed? http://www.elicitservers.ca/vps/ What do you charge for cPanel?
Just to note, $20 is a pretty good price for a 1GB VPS with cPanel. One alternative to a managed VPS is simply using a 3rd party management company when you need them. Since most people don't need managed services all the time, it is often times cheaper to secure a 3rd party management firm.
Hi Guys.. Thanks for your suggestions - Looks like I got it done. (Hopefully no issues) Appreciate your help .. If you need a Directory link or two PM me with your site info I will add your link. (Have some directoires that are five plus years old)
Hopefully you saw my answer on your other post before you did EasyApache. If not, at least you know how to do it now. What's one more time, right?
You can rebuild Apache with easyapache included in Cpanel or you can simply type the following as root in shell [B]/scripts/phpextensionmgr install IonCubeLoader[/B] Code (markup): then [B]service httpd restart[/B] Code (markup): Have a nice day
