    Hey guyz,

I have a directory bidfortraffic.co.uk, and it's a bidding directory. I purchased the script for it. I don't know how to install the script on it. I can install the script on normal html website like http://thewebsol.org.

But have no clue about these direcotries.

    Thanks in advance

There should be a template or theme directory from which you will get all the templates. Just add the Google Analytics code bofore </body> tag in the footer template.

Place it in the footer template above the </body> tag.

The source code of your template files is what you should be editing. PM me if you have questions about how to find the right file.

Look at the source code for include statements which point to the template file, or can you tell us which script you are using?

Register yourself with GA and add your website. It will provide you a GA code. Put that code on your all pages just before the </body> tag..:)

nope, it has to be put inside the <body> tag. In fact, google suggests to put it before the end of body tag </body> , that is , the end of page.

Basically the tracking will normally still work even if it is placed within the <head> tags but if there is an error with the script (or the GA server drops out) this can stop your page loading. This is why Google suggest placing the code just before the </body> tag - ensuring the page will be loaded even if there is a script problem.

Best practice is to follow the Google guidelines!
