How to install Gnome in Low Ram Ubuntu VPS ?

    Hi,
    i have got some problem, bought a VPS with only 92MB Ram and 2 GB disk space, OS installed Centos 5 32 bit, then i reinstall OS from VPS control panel , and i can only use shell from vps control panel console ,:(

    now i need to install gnome and vnc in my server , but my ram and HD space is very low ,
    How can i configure gnome and vnc in my VPS and can connect as Remote desktop from my windows xp PC?
    pls need help

    Hey,

    Sadly, it isn't possible. You should be able to install 'fluxbox' instead.

    any more suggestion? what about KDE ?
    can i use RDA in low ram in centos 5 32 bit? if yes then how?

    KDE is worse than Gnome RAM wise. So no.

    RDA (i'm assuming remote desktop assistance here) is a Windows only program. You can't use Linux for that, but VNC does the same thing. You'll need to 'yum install vnc-server' and configure it from there to use Fluxbox, which will work fine for you in a low resource environment as i've done it myself.

    It's seriously something you should get a professional to do, it's not a simple "3 steps" kind of thing. You need to set up a user account, install vncserver and fluxbox, configure the user account to work with vncserver, make sure the port is open and so on.
