    I need to speed up my website to be faster because of search engines.
    Now i need to somebody can explain to me how to install G-zip compression on my VPS.
    CentOS

    Sorta strange it would not be on at all but if you have cpanel you can click optimize website which will activate it on an account by account basis or you need to recompile apache with easy apache which is located in WHM.

    You can typically do this with htaccess as well but depends on the apache build.

    I am not using CPanel. I am using simple control panel for VPS.

    But i must pay to my host to first enable Gzip on my server. Price is $50. :(

    I would find a new host if that is the case. Or you can simply run with a reseller account with someone. Gzip should basically be on already.

    I don't agree with Nigel. It depends on hosting package, for example, you may buy cheap VPS, but if you need to install something - please pay. Or you can buy not so cheap VPS, but techs will install any software what you need for free.

    If you have root access, than it's not hard to enable Gzip on any other software, on the Internet you can find so many instruction to do that.
