How to install a forum in a subfolder?

    How to install a forum in a subfolder say for example

    sitename.com/forum/

    if the site uses wordpress and forum uses phpbb say then can they both have a single mysql database file or 2 diferent files. which one is possible / better ?

    I chosed Others because I liked vBulletin better.

    You could do a manual install or an auto-install in Fantastico.

    can i use the same mysql file that is used for wordpress or should i create a new mysql database separately for forum ?

    Just upload all the files from your downloaded package into the "forum" folder. Then go to site.com/forum/install/ to start installation. Or you could use Cpanel/Fantastico one-click installs which is much easier.

    Yes you can, just implement different prefixes for wordpress and the forum.

    yep, but one question? are you only limited to 1 db if not rather do it on 2

    if your going with one just make the prefix something like "phpbb_"

    I believe there are plugins available that bridge the wordpress and the smf/phpbb databases.
