    Join AdSense and Google will crawl your site within 24 hours. We got indexed the next day. But you still need to have some backlinks (recommended).

    Plenty of good tips above.

    One additional thing I do is to post a link to each new page on my Home page, under a section I call "Recent..." My home page is crawled frequently, and the search engines are very likely to pick up the new link and follow it to the new page.
