How to increase web traffic?

From my Point of View..

(1) Social sites : Facbook, Digge, Twitter, StumbleUpon, etc.
(2) Updating your Site content.
(3) Off Page tasks like blog commenting, article submission, Preach release, Forum posting, profile link building, etc.
(4) Search engine Submission and Ping sites
(5) Attach a Blog through FTP to your Site and Invite a guest speaker to your site

Start a blog and participate in other blogs.

You can also try to add a forum to your website, in this way the users will interact each other and will spend more time on your site! Or to add some free games, this will increase their time spent on your site!

Regular check Google analytics to analyse best traffic source of your website. For my website I always find Google is the best traffic source and I work more on it to enhance it through back links . Generate as much back links you can to get high ranking in search engines.

 

Optimize with better seo... it will increase organic traffic, are use advertising tools . ..

 

To get better SEO you need high PR backlinks from authority sites

 

One tip from a personal experience and opinion
Any traffic is good traffic even if it gets 3-4 visits per day!
- I used to ignore my pics from my websites. Until I had them very well optimized. Write a keyword rich description for the pic before you insert it into you blog
- Give a good keyword -title to you pic. and then insert it
Doing this I have experienced a bump in traffic coming from "images searches" tab from Google.

Social book marking can bring much traffic but your problem is not the traffic actually. Your traffic is better and it will be nice if you can reduce the bounce rate. To reduce the bounce rate, you have to find out the interest of your site visitors and make the navigation much easier. Not look the site as site owner, try to give a look of visitor and find out what the problem is.
