You should definitely focus on backlinking and article marketing, however you should really reconsider your method of monetization because Google adsense is not reliable and they can shut down your adsense account at ANY moment for no apparent reason at all. I got my account shut down at the end of last week and I had over $4,000 in my adsense account. Now it's all gone and there is nothing that I can do about it. They sent me an e-mail saying that my account was disabled but with no reason. They just mentioned something about having broken links and some other that didn't make sense because I didn't have any of that stuff on my website. Adsense may be okay for the first few months while you are learning to make money online but be aware that it can just be taken away from you at any moment, with no traces left behind.
Lose the Blogspot and free hosting, switch to wordpress... that's why you wont see much traffic - it's on a free platform... Blogging - wrong word - I mean writing bio's on or about the pussycat dolls LoL, Greenday, Britney Spears, Taylor Swift etc... dude you went straight to the big search terms, you wont get traffic by writing bio's on popular or un-popular artists, you have to stop thinking about bio's LoL - how many bio's of artists are already out there? You're not offering anything unique - I bet you thought "oh these are popular artists" and "these are bound to get traffic" - sadly it doesn't work that way... Look in the news and start writing news articles/posts - you're not a wikipedia - you're a blog and in general terms a blogger writes about current events...
You have to switch your mindset. Focus on a target market and have something interesting and unique to say. Instead of trying to "make money", focus on serving them. Your adsense money (or whatever method of monetizing you use) will often be a reflection of quality/interesting/entertaining/unique information which directly affects how long visitors stay on your site. I agree with thsadmin, lost the blogspot and switch to WP.
You have some great ideas above. Each and every post you do, you should get pinged plus RSS's and also Social bookmarked. Many people do not do this. I do this for every post on my sites and it works well. also you need to have an SEO Plug in in your site, and make sure you fill that in for each post. Do not try to rank on lots of keywords per post. Just 1 or even 2-3 keywords for each post, making sure they are relevant to the post and are the best you can find, that will be easy to rank on. You could also, buy a monthly SEO package for the blog. Take Care and I wish you well.
yea I totally agree, hosting websites on a free platform is a bad idea. You won't really have that much control over your website although initially you will get some web traffic just because of the domain name, it won't hold up to a site that offer awesome value to the visitor.
