Hello ....... Could someone tell me the best way to increase traffic ? ..... and improve SEO ? Thanks Will
Hmm... Millions of words have been written about this, and I'm not up to repeating them. Try doing some research.
It's really hard to provide solid SEO and traffic-increase advice, mainly because (specifically with SEO) things are always changing. One tactic may have been effective at getting your site ranking high one year, the next it might have 0 weight. However, that doesnt mean there aren't staples as to what works well for SEO. I can offer the following: - Title Tags!!!! - make sure you have a solid title tag for each of your landing pages at your site, and make sure it's not spammy (ie-Mysite.com sells XYZ. XYZ is the best XYZ on the web. If you're going to buy XYZ buy here it at mysite.com)....Furthermore, keep your title tag withing 65 characters. Not a requirement, but Google likes it plus it gives the keywords in your title tag better weight. - Content - for christ's sakes, please provide content on your site. Content still is king afterall. -Keyword Weight/Density, Frequency, and Prominence - Keep each of these figures within 2-6% for your main pages on your site. - Keyword research. So many ppl try to rank well for very competitive keywords, when in many instances it's better to rank well for small niche search terms. The only way to find out what these potential gold mines are, is to do keyword research. Use wordtracker IMO, altho there are other options. - Link development: For the record, i hated building links, and it's effectiveness is up in the air. However, in the past it worked out well for me, and it still may have some relevance. however, this may be one of those tactics i warned you about where it may have worked before, but now, not so much. That's all i have for now, but i hope it helps!
In my opinion nothing beats PPC for getting targeted traffic to a site. You would definitely be targeting 'buyers' vs. guys just stumbling to your site. You have to find a niche that can handle the ROI to make it work though, so you need to experiment and pay attention if you wan to pursue this route. hanji
I posted a thread about this some weeks ago here http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1021836 should get you off to a start.
