Get people to link to it. It really is that simple.

    Hello,
Article marketing is a good way, you can write some articles and submit them on ezine dot com, also add more and more content, and wait to Google, Yahoo or Bing traffic :)

    Best

what they said plus you can do posts on DO FOLLOW blogs with links back to your site. There's a free piece of software called Free Blog Finder that lets you find "do follow" blogs.

Also - there is a wordpress plugin call the All in 1 SEO pack that will increase your blogs "viewability" to search engines (it's for wordpress - but you didn't say what platform you were using).

    Then you can do this:

    create a twitter account
set up a wordpress (2.5.1 works best) blog on a generic domain.
    install "wp autoblog" or "wp-o-matic".
install twitter poster ( WordPress › Twitter Poster WordPress Plugins )

If you do that and pick up the RSS feeds for things related to insurance - you should be on your way

There are many ways to promote your website.

    - Article Marketing - Submit to Ezinearticles 1st.... then submit to any other directories after articles are accepted.

    - Video marketing - create videos tutorials, tips or whatever you want your videos to be about. I use a video submission service to submit my videos all over the place.

    - Podcast - take your articles and read them. Record what you read and submit them to podcast sites.

    - The same goes with Newsletters & Press Releases

    - use social bookmarking sites to bookmark content

    - web 2.0 sites like hubpages, squidoo.... etc

Continue to do this over, over, & over again... set yourself for for continues amount of traffic. Don't get discouraged if the traffic isn't great at first it takes time. (i.e.. if you plant seeds today the flowers wont bloom tomorrow)

My suggestion would be to comment on already-popular blogs in your niche. Not just insurance, but maybe the business niche in general. This will not only allow you to have a much larger fanbase, but also spread the word about your blog to people who don't regularly read *insert popular insurance niche blog here*.

Think of it like this: your target market is someone who maybe doesn't know a lot about the internet, but needs a media outlet for learning about insurance. Where, if anywhere, would they go on the internet? Once you figure that out, you're halfway there.

press releases. You can also do paid forum posting. Link exchanges and of course social bookmarking. Post a new blog everyday, it's great for getting your site crawled more by Google.

    Lots of good ideas mentioned.

Get some insurance affiliate programs and monetize with that.

Post on insurance related forum and blogs (maybe business related).

Create an ebook for the "secretes to the cheapest highest quality insurance" and put your best knowlege in there. Create an AWeber email optin on your homepage, and have the free ebook be the thing they get for opting in. Email your list weekly with new business affiliate programs and money making programs.
