Hi, I have site http://www.mumbaiproperties.info with more around 1500 pages..But Google has indexed only 900 pages..Please look into the site and let me know any suggestions in order to increase the no. of pages indexed...I regularly submit the sitemap whenever new page is added to the site...
Without getting into a long-winded SEO discussion, I can tell you that getting more of your site's pages into the Google index (and getting them ranked higher) basically comes down to backlinks. If you have links pointing to pages of your site from other sites, Google's "spiders" will follow these links to reach your site and eventually index more of your site's pages. Based on my own experience with Karlonia.com, I was able to get a nice boost in search engine traffic back in February 2008 when I began attracting more links to internal pages of my site as opposed to just the home page. I noticed that more of my site's individual article pages were being indexed and ranked well enough to draw at least a minimal amount of traffic, and this caused the overall traffic to increase to the point where earning revenue from AdSense or affiliate programs was possible. Note that the information above applies to new sites that are readily accessible to the search engines and do not have some type of technical issues that may be hindering this. If you think that your site is not being indexed because of technical issues, you can try registering and validating your site with Google's Webmaster Tools. Once you're signed up and logged in there, Google will be able to tell you if they are having problems accessing your site due to technical factors and give you some guidance on how to resolve these issues.
You need to do 2 things. Increase crawl volume, and increase crawl conversion (ie how many actually make it passed the first page) Crawl volume is mainly links. Otherwise do some research.
I agree. Add an XML sitemap listing all your pages and add it to Google and yahoo. That way you can also see how many pages are indexed.
Make sure that u hav provided the links to all the pages on ur site...orphaned pages i.e not having link on ur site or any where on the web will never be indexed. If ur internal linking is correct then just wait and Google will find the rest of the pages through the links on the already indexed pages from ur site. YES, submitting XML site map to Google allows u to control the indexing of pages and through webmaster tools u can track all the activities by Google. Additionally "social bookmarking" of few internal links will reinforce the effect and make the process fast
Make a nice thorough sitemap and submit it to Google Webmaster Tools. Then, the link building on other sites should drive the traffic to your site. Be careful where you place your links.
If you want google to index more of your site's pages, then I suggest you build some quality backlinks for your home page and also for internal pages in your site. Get relevant links from pages that themselves have high PR. This will help to get more of your site's pages to index.
i agree with Karlonia's advice about getting more links to internal pages; also registering with google webmaster tools and a site map; plus check to see if your internal pages are properly linked up to the rest of the site. internal linking too is an important factor in gaining page rank overall and having better search engine results.
The most important factors to get pages indexed is proper website navigation, inner linking structure and website structure. If a page isn't properly linked from another page in your site already indexed no matter how many links you'll get it won't be spidered. I took a quick look at your website and apparently all the pages I followed are indexed. Which pages aren't indexed? Provide an example and it will be easier to figure out what is preventing the spiders to find/indexing them.
Build a sitemap and submit it to google webmaster tools.. That's the best thing to do to make most/all of your pages indexed.
Yes, by doing this google will be able to crawl all your pages and more chances of pages being indexed.
