    Ahhh, ok. Now I understand your question. Ad rank = QS x bid, so if your competitor has a QS of 5 and a bid of $1 he has an ad rank of 5 x 1 or 5. In order for your ad to be placed above his you need an ad rank of .01 higher so if you have a QS of 5 as well you must bid at least $1.01 but if your QS is 7 then you only need bid $.73 to beat him. (7 x .73 = 5.11). The higher the QS the less the CPC for the same ad position.
