Get loads of backlinks that are relevant if you really want to - but be careful this is not the best way to go and I have seen one of the top Microsoft Windows help sites crash and burn RE their SERPS and standing from such practises - but then if it works for you - heck so is life - good luck fella - tell us how it pans out - the SE's are getting more and more canny!
Other than putting in the grunt work the answers will follow from others no doubt be wary of buying any automated offers would be my main advice at this point - nothing comes easy - if it sounds too good to be true it probably is Other than producing good content or hiring the odd person for manual things when you establish trust with them be very very careful there Sir!
OK been looking around a bit and i think im smelling what your stepping in. is there any good eBooks or articles on how to increase back links the "grunt way".
Not sure you need an ebook - though as you say you are looking at that "& going down that track" so I am not the best advisor as I do pure white hat SEO other than the grey area of internal linking so am probably not the best person to answer. The grunt way is all about doing things your (own) way - and learning - but this can also depend on many long term and short term factors - so finding what suits you Sir/?Madam (depending on who is watching reading learning and listening - has to be something personal to you!). But you smell detected correctly cladkins's a smelly minefield indeed - no two ways about it!
Find a lot of do-follow blogs and put your link as the website and your name as the keyword! Rinse and repeat!

Hello, To get a good PR for a website put lots of unique content on that and place links on high pr sites like PR5,6,7 to get good back links, submit your site in good directories like dmoz, botw, etc. I think this will help you to get good PR.
I dont know, why you guys are crazy on PR, if you are getting enough traffic then what is the need for PR?
Joel Correct me if im wrong. from my research PR is how google ranks a page taking into account the back links. unique visitors and age and traffic. so essentially this should be what you are judging a site on. Is there another way i haven't discovered yet???
better you must makes link building with support from SEO techniques .. on page and off page optimization, it's effective solution for increase traffic and PR your'e sites .. Thanks
Your website title, description and h1 tags should contain keywords. Put Quality back-links on your site. And last but not least do manual directory submissions and do-follow social bookmarking for your website.
Basically what are the activities you are performing for getting the quality traffic of the website. Then we will be able to comments on.
One of the factors that affect page rank is the number of back links that you are getting. Just make sure to create quality of inbound links. The more quality of IBL, the higher chances for your site to get high PR value.
An inbound link to your website from another website is a "vote" cast for you. If a PR 9 website is casting a "vote" for your website via a backlink, Google is more likely to take notice than if a PR1 website is casting a "vote" for your website. The more "votes" (backlinks), the higher your PR.
