how can I improve my page rank of my blog http://banglabooks4free.blogspot.com/ by search engine optimization? what exactly i have to do? and what about baklinks?
PR is mostly made up of backlinks. The more high-PR backlinks you get, the higher PR you'll get. But nowadays PR is the last thing you need to worry about as it doesn't have an impact on your SERP ranking, nor traffic, nor nothing. It's only useful for selling links and showing off
Thank for your reply. If it doesn't have an impact on my SERP ranking, nor traffic, nor nothing. Then what it is that impact on those? How can I make my page at the top of the SERP?
Well there are a lot of factors, but the most important ones are good quality unique content, frequent updates, backlinks.... But you should google some articles on seo basics, or browse through tutorials on seomoz.org - as it's a huge topic This one is a very good start: http://www.seomoz.org/beginners-guide-to-seo
social bookmarking profile creation forum posting blog comment article writing directories submission they all helps you to increase your pr.
Directory Submissions could help to get indexed. However, if you need better rankings, you will have to do much more than directory submissions. To get traffic, you may promote your link. To get better SERP rankings, do article submissions, social bookmarking and PR submissions. This will help a lot.
Well that's a good question IMO (and I'm not a seo expert) that's wrong and it's about to change, because getting a high PR link is not necessarily better than getting a low-PR link from a similar-content site. There are many factors, like how hard it is to get a link from that site - it may be easy to get a high-PR link from a directory or a forum, but if a lower PR site that does only editorial posts (and has fewer outbound links) decides to link to you - it's a totally different story and should give your link much higher trust. Again, I'm not a SEO expert, so it would be good if we could see some more arguments on these...
For sure more the directory submissions, more the chances are for increasing the PR of your website.....

Yes, PageRank is inherited by way of links from high-PR sites BUT.... PageRank has to start somewhere, right? Here's the thing: no one knows for a fact how PR works because Google is always changing the algorithms up and they only hint at what it takes into account. From my experiences doing Inbound Marketing work, pages with high PageRank have strong on-page performance indicators and relevant, highly-engaged traffic coming in. I say this because I've seen pages with little few backlinks, high-ranking or not, perform like crazy. It really makes you think about what makes it work. I've found that average time on site and low bounce rates positively affect PageRank, especially if people are clicking through to content on your site. Of course, everyone has different findings but, again, I say: PR starts somewhere. The easiest way is to get it as link votes from relevant, high-PR pages.. But the PR has to be built up somewhere, no? This may help you understand some of the social factors involved... http://unbounce.com/seo/the-adaptive-seo-approach Please click Like and share it if you found it useful - thanks! 8)
