How to increase $ per click

I'm averaging about 1,200 uniques per month and about 3 or 4 clicks a day
the problem is the clicks are only 20-40c so the daily earnings are really low
what can I do to increase the average amount I get per clicks?
the topic of the site is apple macbooks

 

There really isn't much you can do, your keyword pays what it pays.

 

A lot of people would be happy with a 20 - 40 cent click average, but payout is determined by the keyword/what the advertiser is paying. If your site is not an authority site that converts well (for the advertiser) then you could be smart priced (advertiser is charged a discounted rate, which means a low payout to the publisher). Increasing traffic is going to be the key.

 

With only 1200 uniques per month, any work you might do to increase earnings per click would only improve your overall revenue by a small amount. As already mentioned, spend your time and energy on getting more traffic. With good traffic, 40 cents per click can add up to good money.

 

I think that's good enough I will be satisfied with that

 

what made me ask this question was when I saw a few clicks go through at $1.40 and the rest at 15c
I figured if some of them are going through at well above $1+ than why cant the rest of them go through at a similar price?

There is also regional targeting - i.e. a store selling computers in NY is willing to pay a lot more for a click from a visitor with a NY IP. It's normal to have big differences in individual click payouts - which is why you go by an average. Every once in a while I get $8+ clicks on one site, but that certainly isn't close to being an average.

so my takeaway from all this is to focus on getting more traffic and not worry about adsense.

 

My average CPC is about $0.10. $0.20 to $0.40 sounds pretty good to me...

 

try to change the position of your ads..

 

Most of my clicks are about $0.05, $0.40 sound alright to me

 

The price depends on the keywords.Be patient,don't make sites for adsense.BTW,20-40cents isn't that bad.

 

pick a high paying niche, and yes what your getting is good these days

 

If you post your articles on Digg you will get good traffic because it is mostly IT fans

 

That won't really change the cost per click, but might bring in a higher CTR

yeah, that seems to be the general consensus.

that has more to do with building traffic, not increasing $ per click.... but I appreciate your yahoo groups suggestion, it's a good idea.


I have done SEO on my site and I now rank 4th for the keywords I'm targetting
my traffic has doubled within the last 30 days but this is a new site so it doesnt say much
