Hello everybody, I have been discussing and stressing alot on this so called Google "Page Rank" issue. Below is an extract from "official" Google source (mentioned at the bottom) which should refute mis-conceptions. Here is what they said: There you go. Please concentrate on your link building, content, website usability and conversions more. Hopefully we should not see "sad" PR questions any more Source: http://groups.google.com/group/Google_Webmaster_Help/web/faqs-for-crawling-indexing-and-ranking-2 Thank you
Based on the statement, my interpretation is that PR is not the absolute and the only thing that a webmaster should worry about. There are various factors that come into play
Even though that comment was "officially" from Google, it will still do little amongst many webmasters who see a high PR as the holy grail. Serps ( in my opinion ) are much more important, and are the source of traffic to your sites - not what that little green bars says. Alex
Bla bla bla. Said it before and saying it again: My PR1 site dominates a niche with PR4 + sites. Forget about PR. Focus on relevant content.
i say serp tops all. ultimitaley that is how you will get more visitors..more money. PR is just an absolute standard webmasters can use to value a site. It only gives a basis, but not a complete picture of the quality of a site.
pr increase it's just a question of time. how make it twice or tripple faster then "regular" time with minimal cash - that's a more interesting question.
That statement is over a year old and has been posted about many of times. So to your comment "Hopefully we should not see "sad" PR questions any more" that will not happen.
Yep all I care about is serps and sales. When I do see a PR boost I may think to myself interesting because it does not alway mean a traffic boost and in some cases I have seen traffic go down. PR really only if you are looking to sell a domain and then there are so many other factors like alexa and log stats.
Thanks for posting...I think the PR does make a difference, but it isn't the only thing webmasters should focus on. Develop interesting, original content and success will follow. Regards, Dusty
Agreed, PR value is not all-important: increased traffic is the goal people should aim for. If Google is anything though, it's a mighty marketing machine and PR seems a superb way for Google to keep website owners interested in/ searching on Google.
PR used to be leaned on heavily but as time goes by it drops in popularity and relevance. I recently discussed with a client about PR and how it should not be the only factor that we look at when deciding that it is or isn't a site we should look at. Content? Spam? Cached? etc. PR is just another 'tool' we can use - not depend on.
PR is only good for link sale nothingelse. if you want to focus on SERPs dont concern much about PR as they said it's just one of the mils factors to consider your SERPs.
