Backlink is the key. It doesn't matter which search engine you are focusing. Build high quality backlink. Content is the king, Backlink is the queen.
I think......... PR system = Only Google Yahoo = onsite factorfor SERP Yahoo is more content oriented than google.
I did blog commenting on top commentator blogs for 2 days (230 comments) and recieved a spike of temporary backlinks of 8,500 and I noticed my pr went up by 1 on 2 websites =]
if I understood correctly what I read earlier before, yahoo is not a search engine like Google, it's more like a directory, and someone needs to place your link explicitly in it. In my experience, you have better chances to be indexed by Google, before yahoo adds you without you paying for getting in. I don't think you can do anything special but building a lots of backlinks, and that people generally don't have a clue when they talk about magic actions you do to get indexed within a week.
PR started originally as a part of a research project that Brin and Page were working on at Stanford university. they created the concept/algorithm but didn't belong to them (google) at that time. Stanford university owned the patent on PR until google bought for 1.8 million shares of the company that later on (2005) were sold for $336 million. so back to the question PR is patented/owned by Google that's why Yahoo doesn't have one
i think this guy wants to ask how his website will appear in first page in yahoo search as per keywords, mistakely mentioned page rank?
For Yahoo ranking? Per my results, saving to yahoobookmarks seems to do nothing posting to Yahoo's Buzz gets me higher in Google but not so much in Yahoo Flickr on the other hand works pretty good towards getting rank improvement in Yahoo I'm with jaja776's concept of Yahoo.. it isn't a "Search Engine" per se, it's a "directory", although we tend to think of Yahoo as a search engine. If you manage to get a link on what Yahoo deems an "authority site" (again Yahoo doens't go by "page rank" as page rank is a Google specific term) then Yahoo will list you higher (I'm resisting the urge to describe Yahoo as "improving in rank" for the reasons I outlined above) How to "get in Yahoo fast" ?? it you're talking about a blog, add the blogs RSS feed into your MyYahoo page http://my.yahoo.com funny thing is.. doing so seesm to work as well for getting into Google as it does for getting into Yahoo, don't ask me why.
Yahoo is a Portal, that happens to have a search engine. Just like MSN.......... Just like AOL.......... Just like Facebook.....
I always doing link building for that. Either you submit your link to directories or buy link on good PR site. You also can do it for free by just comment on do follow forum but it takes times.
Yes, it is so true that Yahoo does not have Page Rank. The question seems kinda silly, but ya never know.
yahoo doesn't offer a page rank system! i'm suprised people actually still use it. in the uk they hooked up with BT (biggest telco provider) to try offer adsl broadband services, and failed badly! do yourself a favour, switch to google
So one failed venture means people should not use Yahoo..... that is just brilliant!!! Lets see how many failures has Google under its belt....over a dozen..... so by your thoughts we should dump Google and switch to Yahoo..... Here is a little information you seem to have missed... Advertising Networks Pages Viewed (MM) 1. Yahoo! Network 282,320 2. Google Ad Network 221,476 3. Advertising.com 58,343 Looks to me Yahoo smacked Google around..... Ohh and Yahoo is sponsoring the Olympics so that right there shows them to be much more involved in the community than Google and using social tactics to continue to build its portal reach (its not a search engine.... ) Google helps one entity and one entity only.......Google.......
more relevant site needed in order to get a high pagerank in yahoo. Yahoo has its own algo compare to google.
To increase Page Rank you need quality back links. Use link building techniques like... 1. Submit all the major search engine's 2. Submit Social bookmarking 3. Submit Directories 4. Participating in more forum, Google, Yahoo & Orkut Communities 5. Article submission, 6. Blog commenting , pod casting to get back links. Good Luck!
